Dog harness that can’t be chewed through – best chew proof dog leash and harness review

May 14, 2015 By Shawna 15 Comments

It is a pain isn’t it when your puppy or dog chews through stuff that you used good money to purchase. This is why I recommended the best chew proof dog bed in my earlier article. Unfortunately, dog bed is not the only thing your pet can chew through. Another common item is of course the dog leash or harness. For whatever reason, they seem to treat these products like a chew toy and destroys them within hours if you allow them to. If your dog has been giving your problems in this area, you might want to consider getting one of these best chew proof dog leash.

VirChewLy Indestructible chew proof leash

chew proof dog leash 1This dog leash is one of the toughest chew proof leash you can find on the market today.  From the reviews, it clearly stood out as being a solid product that is light weight, thin, flexible and yet, strong enough to withstand all sorts of chewers. Be it large dogs like Collies or small dogs like Dachshunds, they WILL NOT destroy his dog leash, period!

The secret is the leash material which is made of lightweight braided steel wire that dogs cannot chew through. However, this also means that the material can potential hurt you when your dog suddenly lunges forward. Just remember to always hold on to the soft handle and you should be fine.

A cool feature for this leash is that the metal fastener can be easily detached from the leash and be reattached to any pole, fence etc. Using this, you can tie the dog down in any place that you want to take a break.

Lupine chew proof dog harness

best chew proof dog harnessNow, before you get too excited, this is not a 100% chew proof harness for dogs. From the reviews, it is clear that dogs, especially large ones, are able to chew through this. Why do I recommend it then? It is because of the company chew proof guarantee replacement. That is right. If your dog or puppy chew through this dog harness, simply get it replaced with no questions asked. With such a guarantee, you don’t have to worry about.

Beside the chew guarantee, the main reason why people are buying this brand is due to its excellent color selection and low price. The variety of designs available is unmatched in the market. If you are the type that likes to match the dog harness colors to the characteristic of the dog or your own clothing, Lupine is the brand to get.

With a fast replacement time and its beautiful design, this is one of the best dog harness for your money.

With these 2 recommendations, you have no excuse now to buy any dog leash or harness that isn’t chew proof. Have fun shopping for them!

I HAVE A LITE-WEIGHT STEEL MESHED CARRY BAG THAT I THINK COULD SOMEHOW BE MADE INTO A DOG HARNESS. I PUT MY HAND IN THE BAG AND HAD MY DOGS TRY TO BITE IT AND I COULD’NT FEEL ANYTHING BUT A LITTLE PRESSURE. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY REPLY BECAUSE A LOT OF DOG OWNERS THINK I’M ONTO SOMETHING. THANK YOU

I have a eight month old mixed cocker spaniel Yorkey . The problem I’m having is she chews thru harnesses . She does not like it a at all , I don’t like connecting her leash to her collar because it pulls on her neck . I had to end up getting a lease with a chain on it and use that to for her leash because she chewed through four of them. I put a harness on her yesterday and 4got to take it off before bed and I woke up this morning and it’s chewed off . This is the second harnest that she’s done that. Is there anything that I can get it she cannot chew through ?
    Please advise,
    Elaine Rivers

      Hi Elaine
The key is the material. What is the material of your previous harnesses? If they are made from the same material as I have recommended, it shouldn’t be a problem.

      Cheers

As mentioned in the review, the Lupine brand is not 100% chew through but you can get a replacement though 🙂

Ya, My Irish Wolfhound puppy chewed through it like butter. I went back to the store and told I had to send it back to the company. Though I could get a replacement.
I need something that will last. I don’t have time to be returning things constantly.

I thought I was the only one with a crazy harness chewer. My lab, possible great dane mix, has now chewed through 9 harnesses in the 2 1/2 months that I’ve had him. Am going to try the lupine harness but would love to see something he can’t chew through.

My Sara has chewed through 5 harnesses in 13 months. The only reason it is only 5 is because I mend them at least once, usually twice. Bitter apple and related products do not deter her.

Some recommend taking the harness off except when going out for a walk. The trouble with that is she sometimes slips out the door and she would then have no ID except her chip, and who wants the hassle of on/off/on/off ad nauseam?

So I’ll try the Lupine harness, and we’ll see.

try spraying the harness with bitter apple. it’s worked for me – also used tobacco.
my 7 mon old mini aussie chews EVERYTHING, so I’m now looking for material for dog beds, as I’m tired of Mr. Distructo who shreds the threads!
