After covering the best dog clippers for Shih Tzu, here is another review article on the best harness for Shih Tzu puppy. To buy the proper harness, make sure the straps are not rubbing against its shoulder or the dog will really hate it. If you are buying the harness for a Shih Tzu puppy, it is a good idea to look for a padded version such that the dog’s shoulders are protected when it grows up beyond its initial fit.
Puppia dog harness review
Puppia mesh dog harness is a comfortable product for dogs with its soft and yet durable mesh material. The material as well as the way the buckle and belt is designed protects the dog if it suddenly launches forward. Unlike most harness, it will not choke or suffer from any cuts.
The only downside is the sizing, especially for Shih Tzu owners. From a number of reviewers, it seems that the sizing chart is a bit off and you need to order one size bigger than what your actual dog size is.
The dog harness is also very well designed, with its beautiful contours and materials. It comes in a multitude of colors and should match the preference of the dog owner well.
Easy Walk dog harness review
Another good model to consider is this Easy Walk harness. Its most powerful feature is its ability to make pulling forward rather difficult. This will make your Shih Tzu walks more normally and makes your dog walking a much more pleasant experience.
The buckle design is easy to work with as it allows you to snap it on and off rather quickly. The important thing is remembering to adjust the harness when worn for the first time. You should ensure that the straps are not too tightly worn around the shoulders to allow easy movement for the dog. The multiple buckles makes it easy to do this adjustment as you can literally adjust anywhere. Once you got that down, strapping this thing on is a breeze.
Overall, this is a great and cheap dog harness that works best for Shih Tzu that likes to pull forward. You will be surprised at the transformation after it is worn on your dog.
Puppia polka dot harness
This harness also comes from Puppia but I am putting it as the least recommended option for one reason: the hole is too large. I am sure a playful Shih Tzu can easily find it way out of the harness. Due to this, I think it is suitable for dog walking but not as a leash in the backyard as it could easily escape when no one is watching.
Despite this flaw, I am putting it here as it is still a very comfortable harness due to the mesh material being used. It wouldn’t stop your Shih Tzu from pulling but at least the dog wouldn’t choke on it.
The design is also rather trendy with its polka dot design.
Overall, all 3 dog harness works great for a Shih Tzu. The Easy Walk is my favourite due to its anti-pull design. However, it is not as attractive as the Puppia models. Depending on the behavior of your Shih Tzu, one of these should make a great dog harness for them.
